The National Aviation Company of India, which owns Air India, will take delivery of three Airbus A321 aircraft in February 2009 to expand its domestic operations, reported The Economic Times.
The National Aviation Company of India (NACIL) is expected to receive three additional A319 aircraft by the end of March 2009.

Air India plans to add four B777-700ERs and three B777-200CRs to its fleet from June 2009 to September 2009, which will be used for international operations.

The news source quoted a senior official at Air India as saying that: "We are ready to take the delivery of three aircraft and these will be deployed on the Delhi-Cochin route. The aircraft are not on lease, but will be a direct purchase."
